Why should I sign up for an account with Ackces?
It is a user-friendly, one-stop marketing tool for anyone serious about his/her craft and wants to promote it online.
Why should I upgrade my service?
Both basic and premium members are given exposure and earn points, but being a premium member allows them to earn automatic monthly points and more visibility on the site - something which basic members should work harder to achieve. All premium members are displayed first, unless someone searches by scores.
How does the scoring system work? Who will determine if I've earned a point, Ackces itself or the other members?
Ackces awards the points to users based on their activity on the site. The more active they are in posting content, updating their tuts, referring friends, or interacting with other members - the more points they earn.
I have a problem logging in to my account. The site does not recognize my password, although I'm certain that it's correct. How do I remedy this?
Please check if the letters are not on caps lock. To check if the letter/number combination of your password is correct, you may try typing the password first on the notepad and then copy pasting it on the space provided.
If you still encounter problems logging in, please email the site admin at info@ackces.com.
The site is not allowing me to upload my content. What should I do?
Try to refresh the page or log out of the site and then log back in. If the problem persists, please contact the site admin at info@ackces.com.
My work takes me to various places, even remote areas where there is no Internet connectivity. How do I ensure that my account will not be cancelled due to inactivity?
The system does not terminate accounts due to inactivity. If you are a premium member, however, you could get your account suspended if your subscription payments are not up to date. Moreover, Ackces administrators reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts as a result of certain violations. Please see our Terms and Conditions for more information.
How can I use Ackces for networking?
Ackces is basically a social media designed for business networking. A member can send messages to a fellow member. Sending junk mails, chain letters and objectionable content to a fellow user, however, or using the site to send messages, unsolicited or unauthorized advertisement to people who don't know you or who are unlikely to recognize you as a known contact is strictly prohibited. Sending messages to distribution lists, newsgroup aliases, or group aliases is likewise strictly not allowed.
Are tuts the same as status updates? What should I post on them?
Status updates are a maximum of 79 characters and are not different from the ones you see on Facebook or Twitter. You can say something about what your current mood or activity is.
Tuts are a maxium of 120 characters and serve as a tool for swift advertising. They are shown on the home page and all other pages on the site and are visible to anyone who visits Ackces. You cannot click into links here and be taken to another site, however. You can post a short review for a business or piece of work on your tuts and include some details on where to find them.
How much does a premium membership cost?
Our premium membership package costs £9.99 and already covers advertising privileges, while non-members have to pay £15 for a full month's subscription. You can provide us your own adverts to be published on our website, or let us design them for you for £25. By being a premium member, you are granted certain privileges such as points being automatically added to your account every month. This will help secure a higher ranking for you among our members, which means that you will be prominently featured in our website. (See Points and Ranking System page for more information)
If I'm dissatisfied with Ackces' service, how do I cancel my account? What happens to the content I had posted on my profile? Will they remain in the database of Ackces?
In your dashboard, the Subscription tab in My Account includes the option to terminate your subscription. If you close your account, all the details and content you have provided on your page will be deleted.
I used my maiden name when I first signed up with Ackces, but I now want to use my married name. Where in the site can I change my personal information?
You can find your personal information in the Account Details tab of My Account in the dashboard. However your name being a sensitive information required for the system to run, the dashboard doesn't give you the option to change your surname all by yourself. You will need to contact Ackces customer services and provide the relevant information.
I have been using an alias/pseudonym for all my creative work and people know me by that name. Can I use this instead of my real name?
Yes you can. However, you will need to use your real name for your payment subscription if you are a premium member.
No one visits my profile or makes any contact with me. What could be the reason for this?
Ackces is here to empower you and your business! We will, however, need your participation to make that happen. You will find on your profile page and in the dashboard various options to promote your profile page such as the button "Invite to Visit your Profile." There you can send invitations to up to 10 email addresses at a time.
How can Ackces protect my content and online information from getting stolen?
Ackces understands only too well each member's need to protect his or her identity and property rights.
A member is harassing me by sending nasty messages about my person and the content I post. What is Ackces' policy regarding this?
Ackces takes such things seriously and any action that causes aggravation or offense to another member - whether basic or premium - is strictly prohibited. Depending on the gravity of the offense, such instances may result in the offender's account getting suspended or cancelled. Please read our Terms and Conditions for more information.
